Working for Immigration Reform

Sr. Marie Lucey ministers with Franciscan Action Network and was among those who gathered this morning (Ash Wednesday)  to pray for immigrant rights.

The Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) also sent a statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee calling for comprehensive immigration reform. The statement captured the essence of Catholic social teachings and pointed out that many congregations of women religious in the United States were founded by immigrant women who ministered to immigrants.
