A friend just sent me a link to this video. It probably goes too far back for most of you but--there must be someone out there who grew up in the 50s! If so, you'll probably enjoy this--especially the music. My family never had a car until my younger brother got out of school and got one so the cars didn't have much impact on me. However, I grew up in Wilmington, Delaware,--not far from Philadelphia, the "home" of "Bandstand." We used to come home from school and watch that every day. And, of course, my brother--much more daring than I--went up to Philly and got on the show a few times. When we were younger, the "Mickey Mouse Club" was a big treat after school each day--when we weren't being chased outside to play!
Does this evoke any memories for you?

I grew up in the 50's and the Micky Mouse Club and Bandstand. We'd watch them after school every day.
How cool that your brother was on Bandstand! I didn't realize that it came on every day; I remember watching it on Saturday mornings when I was little.
I just love this! Best music ever. I grew up in Wallingford, PA, and in 6th grade, we moved to a house close to Dick Clark's house. I even babysat for him a few times. And yes, the Mickey Mouse Club--and Howdy Doody, and Sally Starr. Gosh, this brings back lots of memories!

I grew up in the 50's too - and I have seen this. I remembered a lot of it. I think the times were more fun then.
Love your new blog look.
