Today is the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe--one of my favorite feast day celebrating Mary. It has always fascinated me that when Mary appears to someone, it is not to the wealthy or the highly important but rather to the those who are poor and who are considered "less" in the eyes of the world. Juan Diego is an example of one of these people whom Mary chose to honor with her presence. I hope you enjoy the video. I would love to visit the shrine in Mexico some day!
I especially wish a happy feast day to all of my hispanic friends and to the sisters in our congregation who will be celebrating their golden jubilee. Our Lady of Guadalupe is their special patron!

Sometimes it takes a miracle like that for people to believe and Our Lady must have felt a great need to appear like that. Telling the stories of our faith to others is a blessing too. Thank you for sharing that with us today.
